Santa Margherita Ligure
Distance: 1.5 miles – about 7-10 minutes
One of the most elegant locations on the Riviera di Levante, with its refined waterfront, sea-view restaurants and historic villas surrounded by greenery. A strategic point of passage for those heading to Portofino.
- What to do: Stroll along the marina, visit Villa Durazzo, shop in the shops in the center.
- Where to stop: The port offers mooring facilities, while anchoring offshore is possible in permitted areas.
Paraggi
Distance: 2.8 miles – about 15 minutes
One of the most charming bays of the Riviera di Levante, with a golden sandy beach and transparent waters. The area is very popular for the beauty of the landscape and the exclusive atmosphere.
- What to do: Swim in the crystal clear waters, snorkel, aperitif at the beach club.
- Where to stop: Anchoring is regulated and in some places prohibited, so it is best to check the local regulations.
Portofino
Distance: 2.5 miles – about 12-15 minutes
One of the most exclusive villages in Italy, with its colorful houses overlooking the marina and luxury boutiques along the famous Piazzetta. Arriving by boat, you can admire Castello Brown from the water and enjoy a spectacular view of the bay.
- What to do: Stroll among the boutiques and the seafront, aperitif in the historic bars, visit Castello Brown and the Portofino Lighthouse.
- Where to stop: In the port (only for authorized boats) or just outside the bay, to admire the view.
San Fruttuoso
Distance: 4.5 miles – about 20-25 minutes
A corner of paradise nestled between the sea and the mountains, accessible only by sea or via a path. The famous Abbey of San Fruttuoso dominates the bay, while just offshore is the famous Christ of the Abyss, an underwater statue symbolizing the beauty and spirituality of the sea.
- What to do: Snorkel or dive to see the Christ of the Abyss, visit the Abbey, relax on the small pebble beach.
- Where to stop: You can anchor offshore and reach the bay by swimming or with a tender.
Camogli
Distance: 7 miles – about 30-35 minutes
An authentic seaside village, characterized by a long row of tall, colorful houses overlooking the pebble beach. Camogli retains a traditional and less touristy atmosphere than other places on the Riviera.
- What to do: Walk along the seafront, visit the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, explore the Dragonara Castle.
- Where to stop: You can anchor offshore and reach the beach by tender, or continue towards Punta Chiappa for a more peaceful swim.
Punta Chiappa
Distance: 5.5 miles – about 25-30 minutes
A narrow strip of rock that extends into the sea, located within the Portofino Marine Protected Area. Its waters are among the clearest in the area, ideal for snorkeling and diving.
What to do: Snorkeling among the seabed rich in marine flora and fauna, relaxing on the rocks, hiking to San Rocco di Camogli.
Where to stop: Anchoring is possible in some places, respecting the restrictions of the protected area.
Baia Cannone
Distance: 1.8 miles – about 8-10 minutes
A small hidden bay between Santa Margherita and Portofino, characterized by turquoise waters and absolute tranquility. Perfect for a swim away from the crowds.
What to do: Swim in the clear waters, relax in the sun, snorkel along the rocky coast.
Where to stop: Anchoring is possible, but in some periods it is regulated to preserve the marine environment.
Baia Del Silenzio
Distance: 10 miles – about 45-50 minutes
One of the most picturesque bays in Liguria, located in Sestri Levante. Surrounded by pastel-colored houses and characterized by a tranquil atmosphere, the Baia del Silenzio is a little hidden gem.
- What to do: Swim in the crystal-clear waters, stroll through the historic alleys of Sestri Levante, dine on seafood in local restaurants.
- Where to stop: Anchoring is possible offshore, but direct entry to the bay is prohibited for motorboats.
Zoagli
Distance: 3 miles – about 15-20 minutes
A small village characterized by a splendid seafront promenade carved into the rock and an authentic and relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for those looking for a less touristy and quieter place.
